“[It is] not about beating people up, it’s about challenging myself in a way only a few people really dare to (fighting another person). It’s also just because I love the sport; it’s my passion.”
The 864 Fighting Championships were a first for me in the realm of combat sports photography. It was a a grueling challenge compared to other types of action oriented events and it definitely helped me see what areas I can improve in. It was definitely one of the most fascinating shoots I’ve ever had the opportunity to take part in.
The shots from the photoshoot I did with the beautiful Lilly Niemitalo. Conceptual portraits like this one are the direction I'm hoping to go with this year. Portraiture with with a message or an idea....
It’s been a interesting three years in the world of freelance photography. Looking back, there are definitely things I wish I could have done better, but I'm extremely thankful for what opportunities I've been given, what I've experienced, and what I've been able to build. It has taught me a lot about myself.
Heather is a dear friend of mine that I’ve had the privilege of getting to know over the last 5 years. She demonstrates a special kind of grace and strength that is only magnified as you get to know her as a person. I’m thankful that I got to do this shoot with her!
I first saw Sarah from a distance, and when I did, I couldn't help but notice something different about her: a modern day woman who could pull off classic vintage pieces. Some time later, I got to talk to her and complimented her on her style, and right then, we were able to set up a collaboration!
Hunter was one of my former coworkers back in my coffee slinging days! I honestly can’t remember who asked who to do a shoot, but we made it happen! (Haha) Hunter has a penchant for style and class, and we wanted to show that in both his attire and the location we shot in. It was one of the first male model shoots I had ever done.
“Going for Edgy” was a spur-of-the-moment shoot idea that came about after my friend Kaitlin had cut her hair! I told her, “I must do a shoot with you!!!” It was funny and awkward but I’m overall pleased with how it turned out!
Shane Ericks, a fellow Pinoy, did a fun shoot at Paris Mtn. State park! She’s now a internationally recognized musician that has performed all over the world! This shoot was one of my first modeling-esque type projects. She’s the great combination of beautiful, sweet, and talented!
"Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak."
